Mr. C and his family

8 months old is such a great age. They are full of expressions, they know what they like and what they don't like. They don't move too fast and they are not walking yet! This little guy had the crawling down but luckily didn't move too fast for us. He was most comfortable in the arms of his family and of course swinging high for his Dad. I bet he'll be walking before you know it, I can just tell. Thanks for coming over the weekend guys, it was really nice to meet you. Have a great time in the desert. I'm green with envy that you get to go where the sun shines.

Then and now...

This first sweet little portrait was done when he was only 5 weeks old. The next bunch are from this weekend, exactly a year later. I have had the pleasure of photographing this little cutie 3 times in the past year. This last time was for his one year birthday portraits. It's so amazing to see how much the little newborns have changed and to see the little people that they are becoming. It is always such a pleasure to spend time with returning clients and I feel so honored to have been chosen to capture their lives as their families grow. Thank you so much for coming guys, I had a lot of fun with you and always anticipate your next visit. (wink wink!!).

Lifestyle portraiture

This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting a family for a lifestyle portrait session. While I love to do studio work, sometimes it's really great to step out and explore something a little different. I was so pleased when I arrived, to see that this lovely country home had beautiful natural light coming from almost every wall in the house. Not only was the lighting great, but the food too! Yes, they cooked for me!!! Well, I can't say for me only, but there was some very yummy treats to munch on after our photo session. We had a wonderful session with some very busy little children (thanks for showing me your fantastic playroom) and a couple of wonderful parents. You are very inspiring. Thank you for inviting me into your home.

The best baby on the block!

This is the newest little guy to enter the studio. This four week old sweetie had so much fun, I know it! You can tell, look at the last image, I swear he's smiling! Do babies smile when they are 4 weeks old? Well mom, I know that you really wanted the nest portrait but will you settle for this pile of stacked towels? What an angel.

Peddle Pushers

He's just an old fashioned boy! I think he is absolutely adorable...but then I'm biased as he's mine!! I have always loved the style of classic clothing and I think it lends itself beautifully to portraiture. I'm on the look out for an old fashioned tricycle, so stay tuned for more good old fashioned fun in the studio!

Meet Sugarbug

So this little cutie is Sugarbug! He's six months old and lurves to be nekkid! We had a really nice time today in the studio, he was up for pretty much anything. Here are a couple of shots I pulled from the ton I took today. He was the first baby ever in my new little bath tub and this was also the first time I've used this crimson color. I think he suits it just fine. Thanks so much for spending some time with me today, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

The little man turns two!

Here's my little man, Griffin. Today was his second birthday. Yesterday poor little thing, right around nap time I decided to take a few birthday pictures of him. You see, we were all alone, no big sisters to hog the light, just Mom and Grif. At first he wasn't too hip to the idea as I pulled the pacifier from his mouth...but then I pulled out a new teddy bear and some great new suitcase props. He loved them! He got busy sitting on them, rearranging them, trying to open them and trying to get teddy to open them too. Here are some birthday shots of Griffin, the busy little boy that he is. Happy Birthday little man.

Happy birthdy Miss L.

This little cutie is going to be celebrating her 4th birthday and she's very excited about it too! Miss L was such a great little person to photograph... chatty and relaxed and very sweet. It was a pleasure having her in the studio. Thanks for coming little lady, I hope all your birthday wishes come true.

It's been a senior kind of weekend!

It's been a busy weekend around here. Everything seems to come in waves, a few weeks ago I had a bunch of new little babies coming to visit. Now I have the opposite...seniors. I have not had the opportunity to photograph many from this age group. But I can tell you - I love it!

If you are local and know someone who is looking to have their senior photographs taken, give me a shout as I'm portfolio building right now and would love to talk with you. You can contact me HERE

Thanks for coming guys, it was a lot of fun. Thanks for braving the chilly temps for some outside time as well!

Snowy family time

Today one of my favorite families came over to play! Over the holidays many of my clients have families that come to celebrate together, some coming from very far away. Today I had a couple from Amsterdam with their new baby, their parents from Colorado and then of course the family which resides in Vermont, which I have had the pleasure of photographing before. I am so happy that I was able to commemorate this time for them with a few images. Thanks for coming over guys, it was a lot of fun and such a nice change to get out of the studio and into the great outdoors. I hope you have a wonderful visit and safe travels back home.

The smallest little one yet

Today I had the tiniest baby in the studio yet. Weighing in at just over 5 lbs, this little boy was ready for just about anything. We had lots of cuddle time with mom and dad, quite a few with his beautiful big sister then we moved on to birds nest, stocking stuffers, towel piling, you name it! He was such a good little baby and it was so nice to meet him. After photographing his mother while he was in-utero it's wonderful to see who was busy growing in there.

Fun family session

I always love to photograph families, there is just something about all the different interactions. I feel like I'm getting a glimpse of something that a lot of people don't necessarily get to see out in public. The joking, the ribbing, all the fun stuff that happens in a family. This family had all that! With the oldest off to college it is a rare moment that they are all together let alone be photographed. I can honestly say I have never had any mom in the studio that was so excited to be photographed! Thanks for that, I loved your enthusiasm! I just had a quick look at the pictures and thought I'd blog quickly so you could have a look. Here are two that caught my eye. I hope you had a safe trip back home =)

Little Man B and his family

I have been so blessed to be able to photograph so many newborns lately. I love it! This recent session was pretty much a photographers dream. Beautiful house, tons of natural light, a beautiful family and lots of great interactions. At 11 days old this little man doesn't know how lucky he is yet. I feel so honored whenever I am invited to someones house to capture such a special time. This was no exception. The whole crew was there to lend a helping hand, even two grandmas. Thanks for a wonderful time, I look forward to photographing Little Man B as he grows.

Sweet Baby R

What a pleasure this session was. Two older brothers and a precious little girl. At 13 days she is just a tiny bundle and so sweet. Her brothers adore her and are very gentle. This capture of them is quite serious which is surprising considering the abundance of energy in the room! Thank you for having me to your home, it was such a nice change from the studio.
