Scrub-a-dub!

She's got more hair! This little cutie came to me as a new little one of only 5 weeks I believe. She is now 4 months old and has grown quite a bit. Her hair is awesome, the kind of hair you want to run your fingers through - I can't wait until she's a year old, I'm hoping mama will let me tease it up a little! A great thing about 4 month olds, they smile and even laugh. I caught this one giving a little chuckle at her mom while we had her in the cozy bath tub. Thanks for coming everyone, I can't wait to see the little lady in a few more months.

Love me some squishy baby!

Squishy: \ˈskwi-shē - adjective
squish·i·er; squish·i·est
1: being soft, yielding, and usually damp
2: not firm, steady, or fixed

A word couldn't better describe this baby! Squishy. Love it! As a photographer I was so blessed when this mom and sweet babe walked into my studio to be photographed. With a full head of hair, pouty lips and a temperment that is as sweet as honey, he lived up to expectations. I wasn't sure which image to choose since they are all so darn sweet but these few that I chose really struck me; the first two - pure security, knowing that he is being taken care of and the last~ a first time mothers love.

Mr. C and his family

8 months old is such a great age. They are full of expressions, they know what they like and what they don't like. They don't move too fast and they are not walking yet! This little guy had the crawling down but luckily didn't move too fast for us. He was most comfortable in the arms of his family and of course swinging high for his Dad. I bet he'll be walking before you know it, I can just tell. Thanks for coming over the weekend guys, it was really nice to meet you. Have a great time in the desert. I'm green with envy that you get to go where the sun shines.

Then and now...

This first sweet little portrait was done when he was only 5 weeks old. The next bunch are from this weekend, exactly a year later. I have had the pleasure of photographing this little cutie 3 times in the past year. This last time was for his one year birthday portraits. It's so amazing to see how much the little newborns have changed and to see the little people that they are becoming. It is always such a pleasure to spend time with returning clients and I feel so honored to have been chosen to capture their lives as their families grow. Thank you so much for coming guys, I had a lot of fun with you and always anticipate your next visit. (wink wink!!).

Lifestyle portraiture

This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting a family for a lifestyle portrait session. While I love to do studio work, sometimes it's really great to step out and explore something a little different. I was so pleased when I arrived, to see that this lovely country home had beautiful natural light coming from almost every wall in the house. Not only was the lighting great, but the food too! Yes, they cooked for me!!! Well, I can't say for me only, but there was some very yummy treats to munch on after our photo session. We had a wonderful session with some very busy little children (thanks for showing me your fantastic playroom) and a couple of wonderful parents. You are very inspiring. Thank you for inviting me into your home.

The best baby on the block!

This is the newest little guy to enter the studio. This four week old sweetie had so much fun, I know it! You can tell, look at the last image, I swear he's smiling! Do babies smile when they are 4 weeks old? Well mom, I know that you really wanted the nest portrait but will you settle for this pile of stacked towels? What an angel.

Peddle Pushers

He's just an old fashioned boy! I think he is absolutely adorable...but then I'm biased as he's mine!! I have always loved the style of classic clothing and I think it lends itself beautifully to portraiture. I'm on the look out for an old fashioned tricycle, so stay tuned for more good old fashioned fun in the studio!
