Fun in the snow

We braved the cold snow and rain! You have to love when your work takes you outside, even if the weather isn't perfect. Here are a few to share from a senior session I had today. She was great fun, had a great smile and didn't mind lying down in the snow! Perfect!

Sweet Pea T

I was really looking forward to meeting this baby. I had photographed her momma about a month ago for a maternity session. It is so nice to see what that little tummy bump turned out to be! She lives up to all expectations with a crop of dark hair, bright baby eyes, full lips and very long toes! I think I even got a little smile from her. Thank you for coming to the studio today, I feel honored that it was your first outing with Miss T. ever !

Black and whites from a family session

Here's a little more from my family session. Most of all I love black and white photographs. I love the way they look so classic, I love that they make you really look at the person instead of what they are wearing. I would love to have the nerve to become a classic black and white photographer....someday perhaps. For now, my clients love color mostly and I'm happy to oblige.

More snow!!

You may have seen my previous post but these sweet children are the real guiney pigs! They came to the studio for a family portrait last week having no idea what I was going to put them through! Thanks for being such good sports about it, I hope you had fun. I will post more of the session tomorrow.

One of my own

You would think that I have tons of portraits of my children, and I do but not as many as you think. I had a sweet boy in the studio yesterday, he said "Madeleine gets to do this all the time?" referring to my other daughter that he goes to school with. At least he had fun. With my children, they DO NOT cooperate when the camera comes out. I have to let them come to me, timing is everything. This morning they decided they wanted to set up the studio with a winter theme. I was on it! While they were "setting up" I got my camera ready, the lights all adjusted, etc". We pulled out the white paper, put down fake snow, Christmas trees, a sled, the works. It was fun but only lasts for a very short time. Here is one I captured of Ella during the mini session.

Sweet Baby C

I just love when newborns come to the studio. This one was no exception. What a little sweetie. She did a beautiful job with barely a peep. I hear that she is quite feisty but you'd never know it in these pictures, although she wasn't too fond of the crown that mom and grandma put on her head! What a treat to have 3 generations in the studio at one time. Thanks for coming and I can't wait to see you soon.

Double Fun!!

I really don't like being so corny, but what other change to I get to say fun stuff like that?!! This session is one of a kind for sure. Identical twin girls, wow! So sweet. At just the perfect age for photographs, not crawling yet but sitting up, we had a great session. They were so amazing about the multiple clothing changes we put them through, what great little personalities. Mom and Dad, you work together so well as a team it was fun seeing you both in action! Thanks for this opportunity, I really enjoyed having you all in the studio.

My latest little munchkin!

What a bundle of love this little girl was! She was the kind of baby that once you picked up, you'd be very reluctant to put down. Too cute. At ten months old this little one is a go-getter! She loves being outside and she loves exploring in the studio. Dad had his work cut out for him trying to get her to stay facing towards the camera (although hiney shots are cute too!) These are just a few I picked off my memory that caught my attention. I love the fall colors in the first, in the second...the hat is to die for as is her innocent expression. In the third, I just love when a baby does what a baby is supposed to do...put whatever is available in their mouths! Thanks so much for coming to the studio guys. This little munchkin is one lucky girl to have you two as parents.

Sweet babes

At 2 years old and 5 months, what a pair of cute little babes. Little sis is notibly the "happiest baby in the world" and she really was! You gotta love that in the studio! Big brother had the most fun behind the camera! Luckily I found out he likes all kinds of hats so we were able to lure him to the right place!

The most amazing time...

I hardly ever get the opportunity to photograph expectant mothers. Too bad really since it's when they are the most beautiful. I love the way the expressions on their faces give a little more away than usual...like they are privvy to a secret that no one else really knows about. It's the secret of the life that is going on inside them, just amazing. This is one very special mother to be. Not only did I have the pleasure of photographing her now but I also get to photograph her little one when she comes. I can't wait!

Golf course session

What an absolute treat this session was. Not only did I have the perfect landscape with autum leaves and a mountain in the background. But also one of the best dressed families I've ever photographed! Here are just a few shots from the session as a sneak peak. There were so many to chose from it was hard. Thanks guys, I had such a nice time photographing you. You were truly so much fun - it was hard to stop taking pictures!

Little girls and ruffles!

Two reasons to celebrate today...my petti skirts finally got here AND I had a little girl in the studio today to wear them! This little one was full of energy and smiles too - yay! I first met her at her newborn session. It's so great when I get to see the little ones growing up. I hope she can come back for some One year birthday cake pictures, I'm sure she'd love it!

Operation Love-Reunited

This session was a little different and a lot of fun. This couple had called me to ask if I would take a few pictures of them because he is leaving to his post in the Middle East. Not only was I so moved to do that, but they also informed me that they had just been married and don't have any pictures together outside of their wedding pictures!! Lucky me! They were so much fun to work with, they actually listened! Considering I usually photograph little children, this was so nice!

They are also the first people I have had in the studio to take part of the Operation Love-Reunited charity organization. I am part of a foundation of photographers that will photograph families leaving for their Middle East duty. This includes a complimentary photo session and also a photographic book of their images from the session. To find out more about this great organization, clickhere

Thanks guys so much for coming to the studio, it really was an honor to photograph you both. Good luck during the next 6 months and I hope to hear from you when you get back.

Starbucks Display

It's up! For those of you that didn't know, I have a display in Starbucks now though September 21st. If you are local, it's at the Tafts corner Starbucks. Go in, have a cup of joe and take a look. These are some of favorites images. I already got an email from a customer stating that she loved the images because they all seemed so natural, with real expressions. Awwww, so sweet I thought since that's exactly what I strive for.

Gotta love 4 year old boys!

Mr. S. thanks for being such a sport about coming to the studio. It was so much fun being goofy with you =) We had a good 'ole time together... I think that he especially like the fact that I have names for both my light and my camera! I also watched him grow out of a flower pot like a sunflower and drink tea from my megga huge cup that I usually put toddlers in!

Family in the country

I had the pleasure today to photograph this family at their home. It couldn't have been a more beautiful evening and their property is a photographers dream! Here are just a few for a sneak peek. Mr E, I hope that you have a great day at your first day of kindergarten and Miss I. thank you for being so sweet and polite!

Sweet sisters

How cute are these sisters?!! Big sister was so sweet and cooperative and ready with a lovely smile while little sister just followed her lead! Some of my favorite sessions are capturing moments that are shared between siblings, this first picture is one of those. I look forward to capturing more pictures of you both at the Ice Cream Social this weekend. See you there...

Beautiful Baby Boy

Today was a special day because we had a tiny little newborn in the studio. As most little guys that come into the studio, they are not quite sure what to make of all the lights, but after a fashion and some gentle coaxing from Mom and Dad, he fell fast asleep. I had a really nice time chatting with you both thanks for sharing your little guy with me. Maybe next time we can bring big sis too!
